Our goal at Argus is to keep you informed of changes in the employee benefits arena.   Over the past couple of days, many of you have asked what the Health Care Reform legislation means to you and your business.  We have reviewed many sources of information and, although this initial document is a little long, we believe that we have consolidated the information as much as possible, while still providing you with the details that you need.  We will keep our updates as short as possible and try to avoid repeating information provided in previous updates.

We anticipate changes in this area coming quickly and  as you know, the outcome of the reconciliation process is still to be determined and lawsuits from various states are likely. Please find attached our latest Argus Alert concerning The Children's Health Insurance Program ("CHIP") Reauthorization Act of 2009.  This legislation creates a new requirement for an annual employee notice as well as new enrollment rights for your employees.  We have also attached the model notice as well as our original Argus Alert (March 2009) concerning this law.
